It's been a battle to say the least, and I wanna start off by saying the biggest thankyou to Operative; it goes without saying he's the most suitable leader for the group by far, and he's held the team together during the worst bouts of inactivity.
I've been incredibly busy recently, and increasingly so as of recently. With two jobs on my hands it means nowadays when I get any work done for the project it's actually me bringing my sketchpad out in public and getting to work, whether it's on the train or chilling at parks which - don't get me wrong is relaxing. However sometimes you just wana hang back and chill y'know? Others I'm chilling with often end up pulling my pad off me or distracting me too - and without a desk to draw on it's abit tiring drawing on the floor! Try it and see what I mean. :]
Furthermore, it seems the sketch-boys have left the barn! :] ... It's disheartened me a little as a fellow artist and I did intend to do the paneling however with assistance from another artist who could help compensate and fill-in for my weaknesses, this was supposed to be Owen, but as most of us he is understandably busy and I don't knock anyone for their inactivity, absence or resignation in/during this project. We all have lives as Operative said!
I feel I've jumped the gun abit, as I was so politely warned by the likes of Amano, Grim etc. It was naive of me to tackle even a one-shot project on so nonchalantly however I learned vital lessons, what it takes - what goes into it, and quality of work, just the first few panels had improved my skill level a bit and I understand proportion a little better thanks to Nomena. You guys see me start off rocky quite abit, and then pick the slack up after a couple attempts.
I want to apologise for the quality of work, and say I just don't feel confident right now being your main paneling man, with current skill level. That and the sheer workload my timetable requires (I'm a boxer, I do hockey skating for fun, I've got two jobs and if I'm not playing piano or outdoors I'm practicing tirelessly trying to get anatomy and proportion right for you lovely people!) means getting a satisfactory amount of work done isn't possible.
I was going to give it a day or two to let it sink in but I've decided to call it a day for me in Caesarea. What I'm going to do is finish the panel to the best of my ability hand it over to you guys and leave it there. Feel free to get rid of me but otherwise I'll hover around, and in the future offer a hand maybe once I have more time and have improved my skills much more.
Maybe once I return to MangaRaiders again with more time on my hands I'll be organising a workshop for newbie/adept artists in order to improve their skills - those dedicated on improving their craft and those who stay online perhaps I can form a team with, before finding writers to once again start a one-shot project and be better suited for the job!
I'll leave with a little rough sketch I've done for Hone-No. The main character to my main story I wanted to do before starting this project with you guys.
It's prior to him changing and adopting the style you see him using in my picture. This is my way of saying thankyou for what training my skill practicing with two mere characters - Allie & Mal have done for me!
Nomena the biggest thankyou for reminding me about proportion & anatomy.
Thankyou to you Operative for everything.
and everyone <3
PM me if anything I'll hang around for about a week before asking Robin to remove me unless I'm told otherwise.
Sorry for the abrupt leave, thank-you, farewell and good luck!
P.S change the name! Caesar is gone, find a name fit for you guys it's your team :] never been my team
