This will be a progressive list. So I'll update this post as I think of things. From newest to oldest...
4/11/16 The Three-Act Structure in a Multi-Arc Series <- Link
2/24/16 Honestly I hate the concept of "right/wrong" and "good/evil"... If a man steals food to feed his starving family is he good or bad? What if he stole the food from the guy who needed the money from selling it to buy medicine for his sick daughter? And war heroes and war criminals are exactly the same, it just depends on which side wins. Neither "good" or "evil" exist, only circumstances. "Right" and "wrong" only exist in the form of a person's point of view and everyone's views are different.
2/7/16 Remember that the antagonists don't always have to fit the heartless killer stereotype. There have been many examples of this in real life. To me the most notable one that I can think of is Adolf Hitler. There are pictures of him comforting his dying soldiers and after the New London School explosion he sent a telegram to the US in which he paid his respects. Do these things make up for the other things? Not at all. But it makes him seem more "human". On a slightly related note... I saw a photo with a short summary a few days ago. A soldier had made a grave for another solider of the opposing side after he found their body in a crashed fighter plane.

That's some good advice for villains. It's nice when the methods they use are extreme, but their cause is sympathetic too, to the point it becomes Chaotic Good rather than Chaotic Evil
